My journey started in March of 2018, but my issues began about a year ago before that. I was constantly in pain. My back was going out so often that I had to start taking medication just to get through the day. I also developed sleep apnea which was scary for my wife and me. I knew both were a result of my weight and if I didn’t do anything about it, it was only going to get worse. I had to do something, so I went to GoodLife Fitness near my work in Grimsby where I talked to a representative and decided to join the gym. We talked about personal training and I decided to try the introductory pack, which is when I met Sarah Diodati, my life saver.
With Sarah’s help and encouragement, I have been able to not only lose 121lbs in 8 months, but I have also quit smoking after 30 years! I no longer suffer from daily back pain, so I don’t need medication and my sleep apnea is completely gone! I started all of this in a size 50 pant, and now I am a size 36. I was also in a 4XL shirt but now I can shop in everyday stores and can wear a large! No more specialty store visits for me which makes It way easier to shop. My daily life has also changed; I wake up every morning, go to the gym at 5 am and do 50 mins of cardio on the treadmill. I can jog now when walking was tough before. I meet with Sarah 3 times a week. In this time with her, I have become increasingly strong. I can do things I never thought I would, like a 200lb squat! The drastic changes that have come about with Sarah’s help are just amazing!
Sarah has taught me everything I know about eating right and exercise this year. Following her advice has made a world of difference in my life. Sarah keeps me positive even when I get discouraged with myself. My quality of life is 100% better now. I don’t know where I would be without Sarah and GoodLife Fitness. This journey is not over yet but I know with Sarah’s help I will achieve all my goals! Thank you, Sarah and GoodLife fitness!
