At 45 with two kids at home, it was time to make a decision on my health. Would I remain an overweight businessman with high blood pressure? Or was I going to focus on an energetic personal and professional life?
Change seems uncomfortable and comes with it the fear of awkwardness and vulnerability. Personal training at GoodLife is about expertise and structure, but it’s also about patience and humanity. On my own, I wasn’t getting anywhere, but with a trainer, I feel like there’s no limit to what I can achieve.
I’m down 45 pounds and have gone from a 40-inch waist to a 34, and working towards a 32! My body fat is down 12% and my doctor is pleased with all my numbers and levels. As well, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, even in my university years.
I’m more confident getting into any type of physical activity with my kids; my daughter and I are starting to run together – a way to bond with her in a way I have never been able before.
I enjoy wearing form-fitting clothing and I love the compliments I get. But what really makes me smile is when people around me ask me how I’m doing it. I get to tell them about the great experience they could have at their local Goodlife Fitness.
